So, there is this song that used to be my least favorite song.  Not because I didn’t like the words or the beat.  It was a great song, as long as someone else was singing it, or playing it.  Due to high demand, some few years back, I gradually started imputing it into my set list every now and again.  The name of it is Freedom.

Now.  This past Sunday when I was praying, and seeking God about the set list for the service, this song came to mind along with other songs about Freedom, so, I made the chord charts, and got the songs ready.  As I arrived at the church to practice, I just didn’t feel right about it.  I told my bass player I wasn’t set on doing these songs, but he was like, “yes, please.  Lets do these.”  And as we practiced, I could feel a war going on in my spirit, but the battle was the enemy trying to stop what God obviously wanted to do.

We did the songs.  And God did a great work.  The Spirit of God moved in such a wonderful way.  And there was LIBERTY in the House of God!!!  Near the end of the service (in which no one actually wanted to leave) the scripture came to my mind 2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”  This word rang so true during this service, and even the days following.

Tonight as I was preparing a Tik Tok presentation for the youth/kids outreach-Freedom was again the theme.  This time the scripture was different, but even more powerful.  Acts 16:25, 26 “And at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.  And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken:  and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”  See, their praise got God’s attention, and the Spirit of God showed up, and with it came freedom-and not just for those who were singing… wow.  That is all I can say about that.

I’ll leave you with one last thought.

John 8:36  “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
